What if a child and family accustomed to hospital rooms and barrages of tests could suddenly get away to the thrill of a live hockey game? That’s exactly what the Ryan Callahan Foundation provided to families for six seasons through the Cally’s Crew program. The foundation invited Tampa area families battling pediatric cancer to enjoy Lightning games in a suite at Amalie Arena, complete with food and drinks, crafts for the kids, Lightning goodies for the families, and more. After each game, the families were able to go downstairs in the arena where they met Ryan and other Lightning players after the game. We’re thankful to the Tampa Bay Lightning for their assistance with the Cally’s Crew program that brought joy to so many families over the years. Go Bolts!
