The Ryan Callahan Foundation is very excited be involved in helping Lauren Schille with her fundraising event, Cut for a Cure. Lauren is going to be shaving her head to raise awareness and funds for the Pediatric Cancer Center. Not only will Ryan and his family be presenting them with a check, but Ryan himself is going to be the one that will shave Lauren’s head!
There is no set date or location yet, so please check back to our site for updates. Below is more information on Lauren. You can read her story on our ‘stories‘ page, and find out more about her event by clicking the link in this post!
“Hello, my name is Lauren and I am 8 years old. I was diagnosed with a rare cancer called alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma when I was 4 years old. I had to have 29 days of radiation and 43 weeks of chemotherapy. These treatments and chemicals made me very sick. I got really skinny and weak. I even had to use a wheelchair because the drugs used to kill the cancer hurt my legs. I am raising funds and awareness for the Pediatric Cancer Foundation for their Cut for a Cure campaign to help find better and safer treatments. I have been to 5 funerals for children in the last 4 years. I don’t want to lose anymore friends to cancer. Join us in the fight against pediatric cancer and consider donating to our page. Together we can rise up and fund research for a cure!
